The iconic album cover art for
the Beatles' Sergeant Pepper Album had a new edition created for the 40th anniversary
of the album. The hand-printing process for the Sergeant Pepper limited print
edition commenced at Coriander Studios in London on 1st June 2007
(the 40th anniversary of the release of the album), which was supervised by Sir
Peter Blake following his approval of initial proofs. The process involved a 24
colour silkscreen being individually applied plus spot glazing to certain areas
of the design. Once finished, a pressure stamp of the Apple Corps logo was
applied on the paper margin along the bottom. The paper medium is cotton-linter
based archive standard with no wood pulp products involved. Pigment inks are
also applied.
