'Love and Light (Red and Mint)' - A signed, limited edition silkscreen print by Dan Baldwin. Printed at Coriander Studio, published by CCA Galleries.

Baldwin's Love and Light series came about from a one-day project for CALM charity (Campaign Against Living Miserably) in 2018. In this series, Baldwin released a small, singular three-way colour combination of the swallow. The title Love and Light was chosen as a reminder to remain on the positive side of life. A year later, he worked with CALM again, this time collaborating with designer Mercy Delta to create a repeat-patterned silk shirt with the swallow from the Love and Light print.

After having huge success with both the print and the shirts, Baldwin has been prompted to return to a more concentrated style of composition – scaling up the image, yet keeping it powerfully simple. This contrasts greatly with the signature style he has developed over the past fourteen years, marking the start of an exciting new avenue of exploration in his current paintings. Baldwin continues to enjoy the conversation and contrast of opposites in his artwork: exploring the moods of monochrome in one series, and a candy land of colour in the next. Fascinated by the different sides to every artist’s output, particularly Damien Hirst, he loves the impact of putting a palette of colours together as much as he does weaving symbolic imagery into the fabric of his compositions.

*Print available with swallow facing up, or swallow facing down. To select your preferred choice, contact the office on 01252 797201.
