La Vern Baker was a Jazz and Blues singer in the 1940's. In 1991, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and her song "Jim Dandy" was named one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that shaped Rock and Roll.
