British artist Lucie Bennett studied at Manchester Metropolitan University and L’Ecole Regionale des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, France (1997), and has since exhibited in London, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Singapore. Emerging as an artist in the early 2000’s, Bennett began as, and is still perhaps first and foremost, a painter whose preferred medium is gloss paint on prepared aluminium, however she has worked across many different mediums including neon, collage and laser-cut acrylic. Her first original screen prints were released in 2005 and since then she has built up a substantial body of widely collected limited editioned works.
Bennett’s work is part of several permanent collections including the The Allbright collection, Groucho Club in London and Virgin Group (London, New York, San Francisco, Miami and Los Angeles). Her work was also selected and filmed by a team on The Apprentice (2005), and featured twice on The Culture Show also in 2005. One of her limited editioned prints was also chosen to feature in a French film directed by Jackie Oudney (2008).
