"One of the greatest facilities of
London are its parks. In celebrating 70 years of the NHS my thoughts are
towards keeping people healthy and in the case of people who are sick,
promoting recovery. Parks can play an important part. Inside the
hospital, whether it is the A&E, or on the wards I would like people
to be thinking about the world around them and how they can live
healthier and happier lives.
Park Life, based loosely on
Battersea Park, just by where I live, celebrates all the things people
can do, running, cricket, canoodling, just dreaming and scoffing
picnics. Inside the picture there is a lot to explore. Try and find the
dog stealing a tennis ball, or the heron admiring the Barbara Hepworth
sculpture. I want my picture to be an invitation to engage in Park Life.
The title borrows from Blur's 1994 song." - Chris Orr
