'Cool White Spring' - A signed, limited edition silkscreen print on coloured cotton rag Somerset Satin paper, by Bruce Mclean. Printed at Coriander Studio, published by CCA Galleries. 

Inspired by an English garden where the early growth of new shoots burst through the soil in the cool sunlight and a calm wind catches the first blossom, ‘Cool White Spring’ sees Mclean use opaque and transparent white ink on the surface of the coloured paper to take the viewer behind the strong and upright stems of the sprouting germinations. A series of small yellow screen printed squares, which almost appear like collage elements, suggests the petals of spring flowers starting to appear and ultimately pair this work with its sister print that also includes these eye-catching ‘pop out’ motifs.
