'Rainbows on a Train'- A signed limited edition silkscreen print by British contemporary artist Patrick Hughes.
One of Hughes' most delightful and famous images of the 1980s, published in 1980 and now very rare.
Rainbows are key to Hughes' exploration of visual paradox, viewing it as a temporary object and a sign for a rare and passing event. In his artwork Hughes makes the phenomenon permanent, trapping it and making it cast a shadow. “I continually contradicted it. I saw the irony in the pinning down of this butterfly” - Patrick Hughes.
