Donald Hamilton Fraser RA studied at St Martin's School of Art, London
from 1949 to 1952, and gained a French Government Scholarship to Paris
in 1953 where he lived and worked for two years. In 1957, he became
Visiting Tutor at the Royal College of Art, London, where he remained
until 1983. He has had numerous solo exhibitions throughout the UK,
Europe, the United States and Japan. Much of his recent work is
commission-based for corporate collections throughout Europe. This book
is the first to look at the range of Hamilton Fraser's work as an
artist, both in painting and in printmaking. It examines his early
abstract works, the landscapes for which he is best known, as well as
his depictions of figures (dancers and skiers), and includes a new
interview with the artist illuminating the progression of his career,
the influences on his art, and his methods of working.
