Based on Sir Peter Blake's earlier work, ‘Kandy’ is representative of the fantasy women that Blake painted in the 1960s. Though the women depicted in these works are shown as objects of desire, Blake displays great sensitivity and tenderness in these pictures, stopping them from coming across as merely lewd.
